There are gross variabilities in server-stability and consitences.
How can we help to fix it?
In order to be able to answer this, we’d need to know what you’re noticing that gives the feeling of bad stability since what we consider stability and what you’re seeing might not be the same thing.
We identify stability issues as anything that forcefully ends the game session. So disconnections, client crashes, and server crashes. This does not include performance, desync issues, etc. From our perspective, servers for this version of the game are much more stable than prior releases but that’s using data that is averaged over a period of time. The problem with using an average like this, is that it doesn’t help to identify issues that are specific to certain gameplay loops that might have less players playing them.
What that ends up meaning is that there may be some issues that are easy to cause, but don’t happen very often and if a player gets into a situation where they find a crash specific to an area of the game that not too many players are taking part in, that area may end up being less stable than the overall average.
We do have ways of identifying issues that occur in the more rarely tread gameplay loops, but typically the issues that occur the most are what gets focused on.
