The ECN and Combat assist missions aren’t properly balanced on risk/reward. All too often I get a call from a lone freighter needing help from three to five fighters, who are then reinforced by a second (or third) wave of more fighters. Sabres, 325as, Buccanners, Cutlasses, Auroras. Lots of them. Or I’m expected to defend mulitple smaller ships from a similar swarm.
Not only is it not easy to defeat all of those ships, but doing so while keeping them from blowing up the client is often simply not possible. And the reward, should I succeed? 1,820 UEC for your typical ECN, and 3-5,000 UEC for a Combat Assist. In a ‘verse where “Death of a Spaceman” is supposed to be an eventual thing, and wear/damage/fungible expenses are likely only to be going up? Who’d take these missions? :slightly_smiling_face:
Outside of ECNs, which are a bit dated and do need an update. Can you show specific instances of this? Likely there is just certain service beacon missions that aren’t matched well with price and difficulty, but I know there are others that are. On the upper end some of these can end up paying out a ton after base pay plus kill bonuses. It would be helpful to know what the beacon pay was versus the protected ships and number of enemies.
