What is the best way to report the 30K, currently I reedit this Issue council : https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha-3/STARC-103258-Multiple_30k_errors when It doesn’t seem caused by something I do. Is it the good way ? I also put extract of my game.log, is it necessary for this case ?
And by the way thanks for your explanation as it can help people to understand better the issue covers multipe issue.
A bit of a tricky question. To start with, keep in mind that not all 30k errors are going to be bugs. Statistically speaking, most of them are server crashes but there are some that will also be caused by internet connectivity issues and there are some situations where we won’t be able to help with that. We stabilize the game to a playable state before releasing it, so if someone is experiencing a lot of these errors, there’s a chance that there might be something wrong with their connection. I ended up helping someone out in this situation on reddit not too long ago. They had their internet connection near some copper pipes which, in specific, situations, can cause signal interference. Once they moved their cable away from the pipes, they reported that their connection issues were gone. Now with that said, since we’re in alpha, we don’t fix everything. If you can find steps on how to reliably reproduce a disconnection and feel that you’ve found a bug in the game, anything that has notably different steps would be its own bug. That aside, simply bugging that 30k errors occur is not actionable data because it would be like asking a doctor to remove your ability to sneeze. Sneezing in itself is a valuable function that allows the body to clear things out of the sinuses. Similarly, disconnection errors occur when the game client identifies that something has gone wrong that it can’t recover from so rather than remaining in a bad state where the player can’t do anything, it disconnects and gives an error.
