Agree. Many nerdy in-jokes in astrophysical terms and satellite abbreviations etc. :stuck_out_tongue:
Anyway, did remind me of something I really wanted to say for a long time:
Seemingly, the vast majority of names is English-based.
It would be great to see way more Hindi, Swahili, Russian, Maori and all other languages names.
I know there are a few, but there’s still loads and loads more English ones (again, from my point of view, while not compiling a list myself).
If you want to have diverse names you may have to make a list so you systematically approach this, otherwise you’ll probably overlook a lot of languages.
Or, is it maybe that in the future most non-English names have died out just by happenstance? That’s also fine (genuinely it is), but I recall an answer by the lore team (way back during the writer’s guides) saying they want to have people names in all kinds of languages, and every time I see new names I check if it’s a non-English one.
Upsana is great btw! Like I said: there definitely are such names, but are there enough? Maybe there are, I don’t know.. you tell me :stuck_out_tongue:
I just think of this quite a lot, for some reason.
Anyway, thanks for the updates Cherie! :slightly_smiling_face:
I agree! I’ve been making a personal effort to use non-English names like Upsana or Tisiphone or Inácio whenever I’m given the opportunity to make up a name. Glad you noticed Upsana. :slightly_smiling_face:
