Hello @YogiKlatt-CIG
so far my experience with the tobii eye tracker was not too bad.
The only thing that bugs me though, is that the unit emits IR even when it’s not used.
So far I have just placed something in front of the camera, to make it time out and switch of, but is there a way, to deactivate it as soon as it’s not used by the game?
So basically that it toggles of the IR lights as soon as one toggles headtracking off? Also obviously as soon as one leaves the ship, if fps headtracking is deactivated.
I’m not sure if the eye strain I got from it, is due to too much movement of the picture (so eyes constantly needing to adapt) or if it’s the IR being the cause. But to keep the exposure to the IR emitters to a minimum, it would be greatly appreciated, if toggling the eye tracking off also toggles the tobii IR emitters off!
Thank you for any consideration of this improvement!
We can’t really do anything about that I am afraid. Whether the device is active or not is not handled by the game but by the external tools. You might want to ask in this thread though, Tobiians are active in there: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50174/thread/tobii-eye-tracker-feedback-2
